garlic parmesan knots

if you're looking for the perfect easy dish to bring for a holiday potluck, you've hit jackpot. that's exactly what i was doing a couple days ago when i ran across this recipe on pinterest, and now i can't wait to bring these babies to my other holiday gatherings in the next few months!

these are incredibly easy and incredibly delicious (mainly because we are cheating and using pillsbury buttermilk biscuits as the base, shhh...). this dish takes just about 20 minutes to make, and also gets your kitchen smelling like cheese + garlic, which certainly builds up an appetite if you didn't already have one.

prep: 10m | bake: 20 min

ingredients:

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
2 tbsp shredded (or grated) parmesan
3/4 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp parsley flakes
1/4 tsp salt
1 (16 oz, 8 biscuits) tube refrigerated buttermilk biscuits (i used the pillsbury brand)

instructions:

  1. preheat the oven to 400F, line baking sheet with non-stick spray, parchment paper, or any non-stick surface.
  2. whisk together the melted butter, parmesan, garlic powder, oregano, parsley, and salt.
  3. halve each of the biscuits and roll out to about 6 inches long, 1/2 inch thick.
  4. tie them into a knot, tucking the ends.
  5. place these knots (i put 8 knots per sheet), brush them with the butter mixture. brush them generously.
  6. bake for 9-10 minutes, checking until they're nice and golden brown.
  7. after baking, brush on with the remaining butter mixture, and serve!

they are best served right out of the oven, but i didn't end up bringing mine to a friendsgiving until 2.5 hours later, and they were still pretty good! i snuck one in right after they finished, and oh boy oh boy, it was flaky, buttery, garlic-y, and cheesy. all things that dreams are made of.
get ready for the compliments, because these will definitely be a hit at your next potluck! :)
