2 ingredient chocolate truffles
i was low on flour this past week, but was still craving sweets (what else is new?) so i decided to indulge and make something super easy but sounds super ✨delicate✨
i actually saw this chocolate truffle recipe on youtube and have been meaning to try it out!
if you like very calming, baking videos with no talking, you need to check out Cooking Tree. it is a korean baking channel that makes everything your heart desires, and i swear the baker on that channel is a fairy; in every video, flour never spills out of the bowl, she never spills a drop of milk, and everything is whisked to perfection.
i have never attempted making truffles before, and i’m glad i tried this recipe because this gives me the confidence to try others!
this also requires no baking/oven time, so you will just need a microwave and a fridge to make this. i would highly recommend using a food scale, as the original recipe measurements are in grams, but i roughly converted them into user-friendly measurements. and the good thing about this is, the flavor will be roughly the same as it is simply 2 ingredients (!!!), so the main difference will be the texture. so basically fool proof you ask? yes, i can gladly confirm!
ingredients:
160g or ~1/2 cup condensed milk
40g or ~ 1/3 cup + 2/3 tbsp cocoa powder
instructions:
- microwave condensed milk in a microwave safe bowl for 30 seconds.
- sift in cocoa powder, while mixing in between, until thoroughly incorporated.
- once fully combined, pour into a glass tupperware lined with saran wrap for easy removal.
- refrigerate for a minimum of 1 hour.
- remove from saran wrap, break apart pieces to roll into small balls, and coat with more cocoa powder.
i shaped them into little squares; i find them to look more delicate and fancy this way! they also store better since they’re flat instead of round.
i found that they slowly got a bit more gooey as i was rolling them, so feel free to put them back in the fridge for a bit to let them harden more for easier rolling. these are good without being too sweet, and the texture is slightly chewy with a slight stickiness that perfectly coats your tongue. yum!!
