applesauce oat bread (vegan + oil free)
there are some days where i'm just absolutely obsessed with and constantly craving oatmeal, oatmeal cookies (no raisins please), and granola bars. so weird, i know, but this oat loaf pretty much hits that spot as well. it's best sliced and toasted, with a drizzle of honey and some hemp seeds...
this recipe does not require any flour - just oat flour (which you can make on your own by blending oats) and rolled oats.
ingredients
2 cups oat flour
.5 cup rolled oats
2 tsp baking powder
.5 tsp baking soda
2 tsp cinnamon
1.5 cups apple sauce
.5 cup honey (maple syrup works too)
1/3 cup milk of choice
instructions:
- preheat oven to 350F.
- mix dry ingredients in a larger bowl.
- add wet ingredients to the dry, and mix thoroughly.
- line a loaf pan and bake for 45-50 minutes, using the toothpick test.
- cool, slice, and toast!
if you eat it cooled right out of the oven, it has a bit chewier texture than if you were to toast it again before enjoying. both ways, though, are still fiya. |
