5 ingredient nut butter oat cookies
i used to hate oats/oatmeal as a child, except for the *classic* quakers dino-egg instant oatmeal packets. but now, as i'm older, i'm really feeling 'em! love how they're so versatile to use when baking as well, especially when i'm running low on flour or just don't want to use flour at all.
these are also part of my #smallbatchseries as this recipe makes 4 very generous sized cookies, or 6-8 smaller ones. since i can't ever stay away from chocolate, i had to add some in this batch as well. i prefer using milk chocolate (i crushed a milk chocolate bar versus using chocolate chips) since the only sweetener in this recipe is maple syrup. the only time i prefer milk over dark 😁
ingredients
1 egg
1/3 cup nut butter of choice
5 tbsp maple syrup, or honey
1 cup oats
handful of chocolate
instructions
- preheat oven to 350F.
- mix wet ingredients together, then add oats
- fold in chocolate.
- split into desired amount of cookie portions, flatten and bake for 17-20 minutes.
best eaten warm! these babies are perfectly chonky |
breaking these in half practically allows you to have two cookies in one 😜 |
